L.E.G.A.C.Y. recognizes that true community development requires a holistic approach, addressing not only immediate needs but also long-term empowerment. Therefore, the organization will focus on five key areas:
Community & Economic Development:
Providing resources and support in housing, financial literacy, budgeting, entrepreneurship, wealth building, voting, policy advocacy, and more to lay the foundation for a thriving and sustainable community.
Cultural Enrichment:
We celebrate the rich diversity of our community through arts, music, and events, creating spaces where everyone feels welcome and valued.
Youth Programming:
Engaging youth through STEM education, athletics, and violence prevention initiatives, providing them with opportunities for personal growth, community involvement, and educational and cultural enrichment.
Education & Training:
Equipping individuals with the tools for success through college tours, job skills training, high school/GED attainment, certification programs such as the Child Development Associate (CDA), and vocational training in fields like solar energy and construction trades apprentice. Education is at the core of our work
Social Services:
Offering vital services in mental and physical health, violence prevention, domestic abuse intervention, healthcare access, and family development to ensure the well-being and stability of community members.
